Housing Authority enters purchase and sale agreement for Lake Creek Village Apartments in Edwards
December 7, 2021 – The Eagle County Housing and Development Authority (ECHDA) has entered into a purchase and sale agreement with Tralee Affordable Mountain LLC (Tralee) for the sale of Lake Creek Village Apartments in Edwards, Colorado (all documents are available in the Board of County Commissioners’ agenda for Dec. 7). The property was listed for sale in June with Colliers International. It received a high level of interest from buyers that accounts for 251 confidentiality agreements signed by interested buyers, 37 onsite tours and 31 offers. ECHDA determined the partner that most closely aligned with our affordable housing goals with the highest investment into the property. Upon endorsement by the ECHDA board, the purchase and sale agreement now enters a due diligence period that is expected to close within the next 30 to 60 days.
Throughout the process, Tralee, one of the nation’s premier affordable housing investment firms based in Denver, consistently proved to be the most suitable partner. Tralee focuses on responsible and effective management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues and actively employs ESG criteria in its acquisitions, operations, and long-term asset management to create healthy, safe and affordable communities for individuals with moderate and low incomes. Tralee’s simple philosophy to create the most attractive and energy efficient community for affordable renters and being a long-term holder of assets is well aligned with the principles of ECHDA. Tralee currently owns affordable communities throughout the Mountain regions as well as Florida and Texas.
“We are very pleased to announce the successful purchase and sale agreement for Lake Creek Village Apartments,” said Commissioner Matt Scherr. “We’re taking advantage of the current conditions in global finance to release equity and ultimately provide even more affordable housing in the community.”
